
Paul McMahon became Managing Director of a new AXA business, AXA Distribution Services, in January 2007. He was charged with developing and delivering a platform and services proposition, Elevate, for the UK market place.
Paul joined the AXA Sun Life Management Board as Director of Strategy in 2004 and has been central to driving a series of changes within that organisation, most specifically the decision to engage directly across the entire industry value chain. He has been at the heart of the development and acquisition activities which have followed this decision.
In addition to his Strategy role, Paul led the Marketing Division of AXA Sun Life on an interim basis during 2005-2006. He has also been heavily involved in shaping the wider UK strategic programme for AXA.
Prior to AXA, Paul held a number of senior roles within Zurich Financial Services Group, having started his financial services career in Corporate Finance with Barclays.
Paul has a politics degree and was a semi-professional footballer for several years. He plays golf, and enjoys modern cinema and crime fiction. He is married with a son.
